Dr. Petronella James

 

Dr. Petronella James is a teaching faculty at Morgan State University [Electrical Engineering and Transportation. She earned the DENG in Civil Engineering (Transportation) and the Master of City & Regional Planning from Morgan State University. Petronella has experience in accreditation, program assessment and evaluation process and was the Engineering Accreditation Coordinator for the 2019 school-wide reaccreditation. Her interest in engineering education emphasizes developing new classroom innovations and assessment techniques, and supporting student engagement, access, and success. Her research interests include broadening participation in STEM, equity and diversity, engineering ethics, online engineering pedagogy, program assessment solutions and public transportation solutions, specifically bicycle/ped infrastructure and accessibility. She has authored/co-authored several published works in engineering education and online learning, broadening STEM participation, program assessment and accreditation. Currently, Dr. James is working to broaden participation of underserved communities in engineering, as part of the Engineering for Us All (e4usa) initiative and SLOAN Foundation grants.
